Daniel Davis Photography bio picture

Welcome

Good day to you! I'm honored that you stumbled upon my weblog. Take a peek, click around, enjoy yourself. This is where I document my latest work. It's a snapshot [if you will], of the non-profit, wedding and just-because photojournalism projects I've been working on of late. As you'll notice, my passions are wide-ranging. I dabble in everything from humanitarian photography to conceptual art to wedding portraiture. And I revel in each of these disciplines. Don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk about working together. Until then, enjoy the blog!

Kelley’s Bridal Shoot

We had a lot of fun on this shoot.  I’ve known Kelley for a long time so it was a privilege getting to do this for her.

Brian and Jessica

Brian and Jessica are a special couple that I enjoyed working with very much.

Christy Brown, a crisis management specialist, is in Port Au Prince, indefinitely, in order to facilitate the distribution of aid.  She works closely with several aid organizations and churches to coordinate and organize relief efforts.  Her being here is saving lives.

Haiti Day 5

The wait for water

Delmas 60 (60th Street)

This area was hit very hard and many of the homes in this area have been reduced to rubble. These men have begun the clean up process, which is also a means to healing.

What was his living room

Paul from Florida or as people around the hospital like to call him.. “MacGyver”.  He is a carpenter back home who is just all-around handy.  It wasn’t long after he saw the news of the earthquake that he was on a plane (alone) headed for Haiti, with no real idea of what to expect or who to connect with.  A step of faith was taken that landed him in the heart of Port Au Prince where he is serving in a local hospital and a new orphanage.  One of his abilities is taking spare parts and rigging up something that is extremely useful.

There was an immediate need for a working incubator so Paul produced one.

Now this premature newborn is able to lay her head

MacGyver also customized this crutch for a woman who had to have her arm amputated at the elbow.  She also has a broken leg on the same side.

Current projects..

International Mission Outreach has hosted our team this week.  God is truly using them to be a light in this place.

Haiti Day 4

Very long but fulfilling day.  God is continuing to move and I’m thankful to capture some powerful uplifting moments.  Forgive me for my lack of elaboration.  It is 2am and I am exhausted.  Please continue to pray for my team and for the Haitian people.  Thank you.  Love you.
